John H. Castran Pty Ltd gives a crap! Why should you Give A Crap? Who Gives A Crap is an undoubtedly cheeky product, but it's addressing a very serious problem. 2.4 billion people (almost 40% of the world) do not have access to basic sanitation. This results in waterborne illnesses that kill 4000 children under the age of five every single day. Put simply, the developing world needs toilets. The Geebung vs. Cuff 'n' Collar Polo Match is an annual event whereby the 'High Country Cattlemen' take on the 'City Slicker' team in a polo match, named after the Banjo Patterson poem 'The Geebung Polo Club'. This flagship event is certainly one not to be missed and like the poem it has a continual history of 23 years! The event is bound by tradition and the Australian competitive sportsmanship, in the long running rivarlry between city and country. After last years success with crowds of over 3000 people on a beautiful sunny April Easter day will keep the Geebung Polo in the picturesque setting of Cobungra Station.

I AM. weaving change, one bag at a time.
Consumer culture is often cited as evil, but what if it was used for good? To empower, educate and sustain?
Will Baxter has dedicated the last 11 months to working on a business that channels the power of consumption into solving social problems while investing 50% of profits back into the communities he works with. That business is I AM, and it starts in Guatemala, empowering Maya mothers through their traditional artisan work. His launch project went live on Kickstarter 5 weeks ago with an ambitious target of $45k, which is needed to fund the infrastructure required to make his idea a reality.
Inspired throughout his journey by the determination and strength of actor, Will Smith, Will Baxter has decided to show his own strength and commitment to the women he promised to help and stepped onto a treadmill at 10am Thurs 17th November, vowing not to get off until his campaign was funded. Period.

Consumer confidence rebounds strongly in September
Consumer confidence has rebounded strongly in September, a survey shows, as a
recovery in economic growth and fading expectations of an interest rate hike
reassured households. After falling to its lowest level in more than two years
in August, the Westpac-Melbourne Institute Index of Consumer Sentiment rose by
8.1 per cent in September to 96.9. The index fell to 89.6 in August, its lowest
level since May 2009.

The Dinner Plain Geebung Polo
The Easter period at Hotham and Dinner Plain was buzzing with activity as locals and visitors made the most of glorious autumn weather.
The annual Geebung Polo was back at Cobungra Station in 2011 and over 2000 people turned out to enjoy the event. The Hotham Cuff ‘n’ Collar team emerged the champions in a close match with fierce rivalry, winning 7 - 5. They’ll take the trophy back to the city until next year’s match.
On Easter Sunday, a colourful exhibition of horsemanship and polo skills will take place at Horsehair Plain (adjacent to the Hotham Airport) and only 10minutes from Dinner Plain. Witness the High Country cattlemen of the 'Geebung' team take on the city slicker 'Cuff n Collar' team.
The day starts with the announcer reciting Banjo Patterson's famous poem "The Geebung Polo Club", after which the event is named. This event is not only about polo - the organisers promise an abundance of support events and happenings to keep the whole family entertained.
Live music will complete the picture for what is expected to be an extremely exciting day. Approximately 3,000 are expected to revel in the atmosphere and get into the festive spirit.
Gates open 10am. Polo begins at Midday Ticket prices: To be confirmed
